Stocks are pumped like water. Particles in sludges do not accumulate in the pump, or slurries are effectively channeled so as not to cause wear.The back vanes of the impeller keep the area between the impeller and the casing cover clean, and reduce the axial load on the bearings.Balance holes in the impeller are used to stabilize the pressure in the seal chamber.
